Albanian calendars
Ancient calendar, as we will name it here used to be an original calendar which Albanian people have used until recently, and it is remembered from people here and there. The only scholar up until now researching about this calendar has been Rrok Zojzi. Since he had published it once, we won’t deal with it again. On our study primarily we will deal with a problem which has to do with definition of dates, than we will reveal the sketches of the calendar and finally we’ll show the exact dates of ancient festive Holidays. Such a traditional calendar thousands of years old had a great value when repaired, because it can be published like any other calendar, at least as an arts work of Albanians. This calendar is also a sign of unique civilization which makes us different from the others. As we’ll see the Roman calendar has had no impact on Albanian calendar. This could be reinforced if we consider the fact that both of them were used simultaneously. For example the albanian calendar named (Kryet e Motmotit) and Roman calendar named (Saint George). In fact the ancient calendar as explained above has had an impact on Roman calendar used among Albanians on manning some of the months in Albanian. As a result ancient calendar preserved on its original form is a great folkloric and albanian civilisation value. Other calendars ilirian-epirote-macedon or Roman effected by Albanian calendar reveal also a cultural value of the ilirian-albanian past.
