The Albanian health system in the years of the Second World War
In the years of the Second World War, the Albanian health system was characterized by several developments in relation to the circumstances of the time. Despite the political situation in this period, the leaders of the General Directorate of Health will try to open health centers, ambulances and hospitals in some cities and villages of Albania. The fight against infectious diseases remained the main challenge for Albanian medicine during this period. For this, a series of measures were taken, such as reclamation of swamps, etc.
The Catholic Church in the years of the Second World War
This article talks about the activity of the Albanian Catholic Church during the years of World War II and its position in relation to the military and political administration set up by the Italian and then the German occupiers. The article aims to address the differences in the ranks of the Catholic clergy regarding the attitudes to be held, alternatives and dilem- mas for their participation in the political formations that were created during the war years and the quisling administration of the time.
